Libido and the Devils / THE DEVILS&LIBIDO is a Tokyo-based instrumental progressive punk band formed in 2015.
Initially, they operated as a two-piece instrumental noise-core band consisting of bass and drums.
In April 2021, following a lineup change and the addition of a guitarist, the band transitioned to a three-piece lineup consisting of TAIRA (E-BASS), AYANA (E-GUITAR), and DAIGORO (DRUMS).
Their appeal lies in their innovative and emotional performances, which fuse technical, narrative-driven songs with the intensity of hardcore punk.
In 2024, they released their first new EP in five years, the three-track “Three-Body Phenomenon.” The title track attempts to musically express the narrative structure of Chinese science fiction author Liu Cixin’s “Three-Body” trilogy.
Since their formation, they have actively toured and engaged in exchanges overseas. The band’s logo was created by Swiss designer Pascal Brun, who has worked with METALLICA, MASS MENTAL, and Robert Turjillo.
To date, they have performed at live shows and festivals in China, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, and the U.S. West Coast
In October 2025, they headlined the CS PUNK MUSIC FESTIVAL held in Changsha, China
To date, they have released five EPs and two full-length albums on CD, cassette tape, and SD card
